About Vietnam Battlefield Tours

Vietnam Battlefield Tours is a veteran-founded nonprofit dedicated to preserving history through immersive, meaningful travel. What began as a way for veterans to reconnect with the places that shaped their service has grown into a global mission—guiding travelers through Vietnam, Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Origins

Born from the memories of those who served.

Vietnam Battlefield Tours emerged from veterans who understood the power of returning. We created a bridge between past and present.

Our tours blend historical education with personal experiences, often visiting exact locations where participants or their loved ones once served. We strive to honor every story, remove the stigma surrounding the Vietnam War, and inspire a deeper understanding across generations.

Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, a student, or a history enthusiast, we are here to help you explore the past, connect with its legacy, and experience the remarkable beauty of the world.

  • Honoring veterans’ experiences
  • Connecting generations through history
  • Healing through understanding

Mission

Preserving memories, honoring sacrifices

We believe in the power of understanding through personal experiences. Our tours are more than just travel, they are journeys of healing and remembrance.

  • Comprehensive battlefield research
  • Respectful and educational experiences
  • Personal guided narratives

Veterans

Honoring the Founding Members

Vietnam Battlefield Tours was founded by Vietnam Veterans determined to return to the battlefields of Southeast Asia and ensure the stories, sacrifices, and realities of the war were never forgotten. Built by those who fought there, the organization is rooted in authenticity, camaraderie, and respect. The original Marine Corps and U.S. Army combat veterans returned to Vietnam more than 190 times after the war, walking the same ground they once fought on and transforming these journeys into living history rather than sightseeing. Today, the tours continue under the leadership of Derek Frisby, a Marine veteran and military historian committed to preserving their legacy and honoring all who served. Under his guidance, Vietnam Battlefield Tours remains focused on historical accuracy, personal connection, and passing these experiences on to future generations.
